Arsenal vs Leeds Utd 10 Jan 2012

Arsenal
Leeds Utd

Much like Chelsea, Arsenal need this. Arsenal must win this one, especially at home, to appease the fans following a run of very poor results that saw the Gunners losing to Manchester City and Fulham as well as drawing with Wolverhampton. Wenger will tell his charges that the FA Cup is the Londoners' best chance of silverware and you know what, his players will believe him. Leeds come into this one having their eyes more set on getting promoted than progressing to the next round of the FA Cup. Leeds broke a run of 3 games without a win last time out though when they had the measure of Burnley, but that was achieved very late on through an own goal in the 88th minute and a winner in injury time from Ross McCormack. Oh, they played that game against 10 men after 29 minutes. Not impressive in my books. In team news, Arsenal legend Thierry Henry is set to feature and he will make all the backpage-headlines if he puts in a big performance today. Johan Djorou is out to add to Wenger's defensive casualty list. For Leeds, Patrick Kisnorbo is out while Tom Lees and Alex Bruce are doubtful. Robert Snodgrass and Jonny Howson are already out through injuries. Let's decide, shall we? This looks a straight-forward one, so let's not complicate things. True, Arsenal will not have Robin Van Persie because the Dutchman will be rested, but Thierry Henry and Marouane Chamakh look a good combination. Throw in players like Andrey Arshavin, Tomas Rosicky, Chu-Young Park and Yosso Benayoun, who all have a point to prove, and you have a hungry-looking Arsenal side eager to make this FA Cup silverware opportunity count. Leeds will fight hard like they always do, but Wenger's men should have too much, especially at home. Big home win!
